Jonathan Cooke received his B.A. in Fine Art at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and his M.A. at Chelsea School of Art. Since then he has divided his professional life between working as a practicing artist in the capacities of painter, printmaker and sculptor and working as a teacher of art.

In the course of his teaching career he has developed a student centred approach towards art tuition which focuses upon bringing out the person's innate, individual artistic persona. The encouragement of the student's intuitive capacities is combined with ensuring that he or she is supplied with all the technical information and theoretical knowledge that makes painting practical, successful and enjoyable.

Jonathan Cooke now lives in Bansko, where he works as a practicing artist and writer.
